Outreach Programs
Jubilee Theatre has a long standing commitment to educational outreach in our community. In addition to the lessons of cultural diversity that come from our stage and through the presentation of works which reflect the African-American experience, Jubilee engages in community education in several different ways.
Arts-in Education
As part of the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County’s Neighborhood Arts Program, Jubilee travels to underserved schools within our community. Through this program, Jubilee has reached over 38,000 students in the Fort Worth ISD since 2002, with programs designed to meet Texas educational standards and teach students about cultural diversity. Past repertoire has included The Bill, a study of the history of the Bill of Rights, and What Women, a play detailing historically important women in the United States.
Jubilee’s newest educational outreach piece is Out of Many, We Are One. This piece addresses the relationship between African-American and Latino communities, and is produced in collaboration with Artes De La Rosa. Out of Many, We Are One was presented at area schools and reached 1,100 students in the Fort Worth ISD during the Fall of 2007. This tour was made possible by the generous funding from the Neighborhood Arts Program of the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. Jubilee Theatre will continue the tour in the Spring of 2008.

Community Residencies
Jubilee believes in “programming with, not for.” As a result, the theatre seeks out unique partnerships with strong outreach opportunities. During our most recent residency, at Bethlehem Community Center, Jubilee Theatre’s Production Manager Tyrone King conducted a specialized summer acting workshop with local children which culminated in a performance at Jubilee Theatre.

Professional Training
One of the goals of Jubilee’s recently launched Artistic Enhancement Project, is “to increase the level of artistry amongst African-American theatre artists in Dallas/Fort Worth through professional training workshops and opportunities.”
Throughout this three-year project, Jubilee Theatre will develop and present acting and stagecraft workshops for area professionals. Workshops will be held at Jubilee Theatre with local directors and Jubilee production staff.

Community Partners
A Community Partner is a social group, business, or individual who wants to support the mission of Jubilee and see the theatre grow in its scope and reach. A Community Partner supports the theatre by introducing members of the community to the Jubilee experience. A Community Partner purchases bulk tickets for their group or business. A Community Partner also offers creative ideas through which the theatre can interact with the community.
Who makes a good Community Partner? You do! Jubilee Theatre strives to remain a unique place that reflects the promise of our North Texas communities, where diverse neighbors can come together to laugh, cry, and reflect. Jubilee is the rare place where integration is the rule and not the exception. We need diverse organizations in the community to maintain the Jubilee Promise.
How will my Organization benefit from becoming a Community Partner?
• Exposure for your group to a unique and diverse theatre experience
• Promotion for your organization in the Jubilee Program
• Social networking opportunities for your Organization
• Opportunities to make a deeper connection with the art, including special talkbacks with artists
• Discounted tickets that you can in turn use for your own fundraiser
