Jubilee Theatre - Job Description:  Marketing and Operations Manager

Title:  Marketing and Operations Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Hours:  Full-time (40 hours); some nights and weekends

Jubilee Theatre is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and present theatrical works which reflect the African American experience.  The company has been in existence for over 30 years and operates out of a 147-seat theatre inthe heart of downtown Fort Worth (506 Main St.).

Job Summary: The Marketing and Operations Manager is responsible for planning and implementing all marketing for Jubilee Theatre and managing the daily operations for the theatre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing

* Develop annual brochure and season ticket sales campaign and budget
* Develop strategies for advertising individual shows and selling individual tickets
* Write and distribute all press releases for productions and projects
* Follow up with press critics, schedule critic showings and interviews with media
* Develop and schedule all print, online and radio ads
* Develop and distribute all postcards/flyers/posters/etc.
* Coordinate with the Stage Manager to create playbill for each production
* Maintain photo archives and photography schedule and distribution
* Write and facilitate the organizational newsletter
* Oversee and manage the organization's website, including updating as necessary
* Maintain Jubilee's media list
* Develop and facilitate all patron mailings
* Help plan, implement, and manage communications strategies which reach current and potential Jubilee funders and/or patrons
* Help plan and develop special events, i.e. opening night receptions, community outreach as needed
* Serve as primary liaison to the Marketing Committee of the Board of Trustees
* Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each function

Operations and Administrative

* Handle and/or oversee all administrative tasks of the organization
* Manage weekly flow of A/R and A/P
* Email weekly A/P invoices to bookkeeper and Board Treasurer
* Receive online and credit card sales reports from Box Office Manager; forward reports to bookkeeper and Board Treasurer
* Maintain inventory of office equipment, leases, and purchases and provide required documentation of back office expenses
* Serve as support when needed for front of the house activities
* Supervise Box Office staff
* Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each function

Qualifications

* Four-year degree in marketing, advertising, arts management or related field preferred or minimum of three years of significant experience, but position will be open to individuals who have completed at least 84 hours of college credit, of which 24 must be in upper division courses.
* Superior writing, organization and communication skills
* Strong computer skills requiredc in MS Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and in-Design, knowlege of HTML and back-end utilities; experience with Access and QuickBooks a plus.
* Flexible, interpersonal skills, initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work alone and within a group
* Experience working in an arts organization, especially performing arts, a plus.
* Knowledge of African American dramatic literature and art a plus, but not required.
