(Fort Worth, TX) Stephen Braun has been named managing director of Jubilee Theatre effective July 16, announced Blake Moorman, president of the board of trustees. Mr. Braun comes to the 31-year-old theater company from Tarrant County ACCESS for the Homeless, where he served as executive director.

“A seasoned nonprofit executive, Mr. Braun brings more than 13 years of experience in development and community services to our theatre,” Mr. Moorman said. Mr. Braun holds a Master of Public Administration from UTA, has completed coursework required for a Ph.D. in the field, is CFRE certified and also is a current officer of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“Stephen knows the Fort Worth community,” said Artistic Director Tre Garrett, “and he has demonstrated excellence in raising funds to support public programs. We look forward to pairing his administrative leadership with our artistic vision of Jubilee Theatre.”

In an additional appointment, David Hadlock has been named marketing and operations manager for Jubilee. “Mr. Hadlock is an accomplished arts marketer who has worked for several area arts organizations, including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association and the Dallas Theater Center,” Mr. Moorman noted.

In his new role, Mr. Hadlock is responsible for a broad scope of public interactions, from advertising and promotions to the patron experience in the theatre lobby.

Jubilee’s administrative affairs have been ably handled by Katherine Ware, managing director, who will work with Mr. Braun through the end of July. Ms. Ware will remain in the Fort Worth area, supporting the arts and tending to personal affairs.  “Jubilee is poised to present a lot of terrific work in the very near future,” Ms. Ware said. “I’m excited by the possibilities and eager to watch the theatre build on its proud history.”

Established in 1981, Jubilee Theatre exists to create and present theatrical works that reflect the African-American experience. The Fort Worth/Dallas area’s only African-American theatre producing a full season of shows, Jubilee is located at 506 Main Street in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth.
