Job Title: Janitor/ Handy Person                                    
Scheduled Hours: Days & hours will rotate based on work

Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour (20- 30 hours weekly)

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Managing Director, this part-time position is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the theatre and the administrative offices. Quality customer service will be provided to the client always. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Essential Functions:

Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs before shows premiere and weekly during run as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms (nights & weekends required during production runs).
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and theatre shared areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Dusting and cleaning communal audience and backstage areas.
  • Cleaning storefront windowsills, windows and doors.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
  • Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
  • Maintain vending closest in a clean, organized and safe manner.
  • Order cleaning and vending supplies as necessary with supervisory approval.
  • Assist with set build and load in when needed.
  • Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Create and maintain production storage.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn.


  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year or more related experience. Theatre cleaning experience a plus.
  • Subject to criminal background check.

Working Environment: The work is performed in two locations: the theatre and the administrative offices located in the basement of the Burk Burnett building, with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.

Physical Demands: The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty (50) pounds. Moving items over fifty (50) pounds utilizes a team lift.
