FORT WORTH, TXJubilee Theatre fills a jam-packed Juneteenth/Father’s Day weekend while celebrating a successful 40th season run, with two live, on-stage entertainment shows featuring acclaimed comedienne Nanette Lee, along with the theatre’s annual golf tournament, chaired by NFL Hall-of-Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson.

Jubilee invites you to their official 40th Birthday Party with “Jubilation Live!: Celebration of Laughter and Music.” The shows take place on June 19th and 20th at the Jubilee Theatre facilities, 506 Main Street, Fort Worth.

Jubilation Live! spotlights the hilarious Nanette Lee Phat Tuesday Comedy Show. More comedic relief will be provided by DFW Metroplex sensation Lamar Jones. The two evenings will be hosted by emcee Success. Music will be performed by Phunk Dr’s.

“I’m so happy to be in Fort Worth,” said Lee, also a nationally renowned radio personality, known best as an alumnus of the famous Skip Murphy and Company morning radio talk show team.

“What a trifecta!” Lee further stated. “I get to celebrate Juneteenth, Father’s Day and Season 40 with Jubilee Theatre. I can’t wait to be with my Fort Worth family!

Doors open on the 19th at 7:30 p.m., with Showtime at 8:00 p.m. On the 20th, doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the entertainment beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Jubilee Theatre Golf Tournament finishes out the “three-day weekend” on June 21, at Shady Valley Country Club in Arlington, Texas. The prolific LaDainian Tomlinson proudly serves as the tournament’s Honorary Chair.

Serving with vigorous energy as Honorary Co-Chairs are Victor Turner, City of Fort Worth’s director of Neighborhood Services, and Greer Christian, Senior Manager of Community Relations for Charles Schwab.

Tomlinson is regarded as one of the greatest running backs to ever touch a football and holds the credentials to prove it. The Rosebud, TX native exploded into the football world while attending Texas Christian University (TCU), where he led the NCAA in rushing yards his junior and senior years (2,185 yards and 22 touchdowns his senior season). He was named a Consensus All-American, won the Doak Walker Award as the best college running back in the country, finished 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting, and was the overall 5th pick in the NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.

In an outstanding 11-year NFL career, mostly with the Chargers and later with the New York Jets, Tomlinson amassed 13,684 rushing yards (5th all-time), 18,456 all-purpose yards (7th all-time), 162 touchdowns (3rd) and was named to the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team.

Tomlinson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Today, he is a highly respected analyst for the NFL Network.

Under the leadership of board member LaWonda Peoples, the Jubilee Theatre Golf Tournament serves as a key fundraising initiative that will tap into a market of patrons and cultural arts donors who enjoy a game of golf while supporting a worthy cause.

“Golf tournaments are no brainers in the world of fundraising, states Peoples. “Jubilee is continuously looking for alternative avenues to engage our community supporters. We hope that our patrons embrace this new initiative and join us for a great day of competitive play.”

Registration will be at 8 a.m. with a shotgun tee beginning at 9:00 a.m. Registrants will enjoy complimentary breakfast and a closing ceremony luncheon. There’s still time to register a four-member team, serve as a sponsor or just make a donation.
