Jubilee Theatre Announces Proposal for a New Visioning Plan - The Next42 Initiative

Fort Worth, TX – This year Jubilee Theatre will celebrate 42 years of creating and producing
theatrical works that give voice to the African American experience. In true Black History
month tradition, and as a hidden jewel in the historic Sundance Square for more than 4
decades, the Jubilee Theatre board of directors will be undertaking the task of developing a
visioning statement that will reflect a sustainability platform for future decades through the
Next42 Initiative.

A special advisory committee comprised of board members, community leaders and donors
will be formed to develop the architectural structure that will carry Jubilee Theatre into the
future.

The vision initiative will reflect the future objectives of an organization based on the current
positioning. Operating with the notion that a clear vision will eventually attract the right
strategy to achieve the vision, the board is confident that this effort will infuse new vitality
into the historic theatre. Jubilee has sustained a lead in upholding the mission but must be
proactively seeking ways to remain relevant in the future. This is the first time such an
initiative has been introduced to the Jubilee model and it is hoped that this effort will fortify
Jubilee’s positioning for the coming decades.

“This is an exciting time for Jubilee Theatre to establish a blueprint for the future,” said
Board President, Anita Heiskell. “As with any visioning plan, there will be a review of the
current organizational structure and we will work hard to ensure that the right people and
resources are in place to carry us into the next generation of Jubilee Theatre.”
